State Park on the Oregon coast. I was perched on a bluff high above the surf when I photographed this huge rock face. Check out the gulls on the cliffs for a sense of scale. 50mm lens, full frame DSLR. Tripod. 2.5 sec. Neutral Density filter.

Great shot and perfect for the challenge, Robert! The vertical orientation works very well to help show the height of this cliff face. I really like your comp with the diagonal base, slanting rock face, and the view of the mountains and ocean off to the right. The swirling surf adds an element of excitement and is captured at just the right shutter speed IMO. The lighting works well to show the texture in the rock face. I assume those tiny white specks near the top of the cliff edge are the gulls. They are so tiny. . .really helps one realize the size of these cliffs!

That's a stunning cliff face and all the wave action at the bottom is a big bonus. Great shutter speed choice to slow the waves but still show good surf action.

The sheer cliffs and the turbulent surf stunningly portray the ruggedness of the Oregon coast.

I like the image, and the way you have handled the waves, but the URHC distracts IMHO. Would consider darkening it or maybe cropping it out. Thanks for sharing.

Very dramatic shot, seemingly taken during the "golden hour". The sky is minimized and you have enough of a background to provide balance. Like how the slow shutter made the wave action "wispy". Thanks for pointing out the gulls; that's one big rock!

Massive and powerful Robert. Love the water colors and the soft wave action. Good post for the theme this week.
