I've been photographing birds for a while, and I'll start trying some flowers.
This is one we have in home, just did this image.

Nice use of the diagonal originating near a corner, color contrast between the reds and greens, and complementary form comparing the shapes of the petals with the shapes in the stem. The black background really makes it all pop. The water drops add interest.
