Inside-out

This is indeed the name of the flower: Northern Inside-out Flower. I saw it on the Western WA prairies. The "umbrella" petals are a little droopy due to light rain. Still pretty on its vine, I thought.

D700, 105 micro, tripod; f 4.5, 1/250, ISO 400.

Hope you enjoy this little wonder...

Nicely done...The petals looks like from an oil canvas. Which is a compliment. I like the blurred curvey blades in the b/g... a bit of variety to spice up the space.

Catherine: Most excellent. Love your DOF management and the sense of structure created by the OOF BG elements. Really nice work. >=))>

Excellent job, Catherine. I really like the bg produced by your dof and your overall composition.

Lovely composition, Catherine - I love how the flower falls through the frame to the accompaniment of the softly rendered stems in the bg. Very nice atmospheric image !

I like the simplicity of the subject and yet its strong against the backdrop. I find white flowers to be difficult to to work with in bringing out their depth - this looks nice. I wonder if you sharpened the petals how this would look. Just curious. Love the photo.
