Mount Rundle

I know there are lots of interpretations of this scene out there already. Well, here's mine. I was still jetlagged on the first day of a conference in Banff. So getting up early in the morning was easy. I picked up my tripod, a camera and a lens, and ran the short distance from Banff to the viewpoint, almost colliding with an elk or two on the way. Got there somewhat out of breath but just in time.

M&N because there are roofs of some buildings visible in the forest.

Comments much appreciated!

I don't recall ever seeing this view before. The scenery and your image are both very impressive, Basil. Nice light on the mountain, and I like balanced comp.

Basil, very nice original image, only thing I might mention is the blue sky looks a bit neon blue on my screen.

Thanks for your comments, everyone!

Scott - there must be millions of photos of exactly this view out there. It's a rather well known viewpoint, and there's a trailer park right next to it (two, actually, if I remember correctly). Though there were not many people out there at sunrise.
