Sorry for not having an english title.
This shot was taken from above "Gwidemfluh" in the Jura of Northwest switzerland on a november morning last year. Often the "big valley" called "Das Mittelland" which is between the Jura mountains and the alps is covered by fog from october through december.
I was not quiet sure about this comp. Is there enough interest in it? Does this comp work for you? I like it a lot but don't have any idea how others may think about it.

Thanks a lot for your comments and feedbacks on my previous post.

Great picture, I like it as well! The wavy structure of the clouds is awesome! The only very minor nit I can find is the silhouette in the URC, which is a tiny bit distracting. But a very nice picture nevertheless!

Giant river! I guess it is 'visible moisture', so it it kind of a river... Very nice shot. I like the hints of land under the blanket, and also the lighting.

Bill - WOnderful abstract created here. In contrast to Roel's comment, I like the included mnts. in the distance as it gives me some bearings and context to what I am looking at. Without it, it could be a river flowing, could be clouds, could be a lot of things. I guess I might want that piece a little more prominent and not at the edge of the image. Maybe loosing much of the FG and placing the large "waves toward the left and the mnts. upper right. The mnt/clouds on the far left edge seem a bit out of place with the comp, as the exposure wasn't long enough to blur the clouds moving over them in the same way as the rest of the image. Great color palette. :toast:

A unique capture for me, Bill. The mountains in the distance make for a most interesting and appealing counterpoint to the "wave" in my opinion.

Thanks for your feedbacks.
@Larry, I see what you mean about the clouds/fog in the upper left corner and i agree with you. i also wanted to include more of the distant mountain range but that wasn't possible because there was something in the way on the right side in the foreground. I couldn't find another and better angle to photograph this scene.

I like the comp, silhouette and all! Looks like a river, well i guess it is in a way. Maybe a tiny bit oversaturated for my taste, but real nice overall.

It definitely holds my interest. This image has nice visual depth from foreground to background and the soft sweeping contours of the fog traversing the landscape really stand out. I also like the warm cool contrast.

Interesting - as I scroll down I see an alternate comp to compliment (not replace) this image of just the fog without the rest of the sky / background. This would work as a great abstract image, and might even be more powerful. Without the visual context of the rest of the scene it has a mysterious feel mixed with wonder as I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at. Anyway, just food for thought.

The idea of flowing water, a huge turbulent river, comes to mind when I first saw this. Love those blues, and how they contrast with the warm colors in the sky. Your composition works, in my opinion, with the distant mountains anchoring the image. Outstanding.

love the composition and nice vivid colors, I am dreaming about long exposure sunrise shot but in the area where I am located we don't have so dramatic mornings, three thumbs up!!! :wavey: :toast: :wavey:

This is quite surreal and beautiful Roland! Great job in framing this and creating that otherworldly perspective.

Looks like waves in ocean or raging river. I like it Bill especially the mix of blue and yellow and the overall mood. I do agree with Harry's crop suggestion due to the distraction of the mountain/cloud in the upper left. Must have been amazing to see this in person.

This works well for me. It's the situation that does the talking here, no need for anything different than what you framed up.
