Love this. The BW definitely works...........Great bokeh :toast: The soft textures and sparkles really draw me in.
I would be tempted to crop a very tiny bit on the left at the http just before the ://

This is very nice Balan. Great use of selective focus and those lines. I feel the B&W conversions works well here. Yet, I am interested in the color version too as I cannot remember having seen it.

Hi Balan,

I think the B&W conversion works in an absolute sense here, but impossible to say if it's "better" than the colour version without seeing it too. My guess is that if there are several colours present in the image then the simplification offered by the B&W conversion was probably a wise choice. Overall I find the image a bit on the busy side for my personal taste - that very bright zone right behind the snail really draws my eye...

Thanks for sharing this and a real good idea to float out an alternate approach to an image...cheers...

Brad

Nicely done. I thought it might have a little more impact with a bit of a crop, perhaps taking the majority off the top. I like the extended eyes!

I like the shallow DOF here! Looks nice in B&W...I agree it could have even more impact if cropped a little from the top.

Very interesting shot - without having seen the color version I'm almost certain I will prefer this one. The blown highlights are unfortunate, but you could probably try to fill that area with information from the background. I'd also get rid of the little shape in the llc. Some selective adjustments on the snail can bring it out slightly more (brightness). Hope that makes sense.
