While taking an exposure at dark, this little fella showed up and changed everything about this shot

This is so cool ! Incredible composition too with that diagonal shape and the full trail from frame edge to frame edge. Thanks for sharing this unique image Lucy.

Hi Lucy,
Very cool, very unique. Seeing this makes me wonder what influences their "decisions" to change their "flight plan" and course so frequently (and dramatically).
Thanks for sharing this...so unusual...

I can't say it's pretty, but it certainly is very cool! I'm wondering what you were photographing when this happened, because the shot seems a bit underexposed. Or did you lower the exposure afterwards to eliminate all detail and keep only the firefly? Just curious.

Marcel, I was at the last frame of a series of photos at sunset's very last light. The brighter part of the pano is way to the left of this shot. And, yes, once I saw the firefly in pp (quite a surprise)....I lowered the exposure to give him a darker background. So, like Lon, I, too, will be "firefly hunting" this summer to get photos on purpose!
