Saw this dandelion by the side of Patricia Lake, near Jasper, Alberta and it seemed to work nicely against the reflections in the lake. At full size you can clearly see dewdrops in amongst the seeds…

Definitively something different. Love the details and dewdrops in the dandelion! I am debating how much of the top of the image is really needed...but certainly works as presented. TFS

Regardless of its name, this image conveys to me a beautiful feeling of layers of softness. I think I'll leave it at that

Patricia Lake is one of my favorite spots in the Canadian Rockies. I've been there many times and hope to go back many times.

Very interesting take on the landscape. Sort of gets to the idea that there are different microcosms within the big wonderful world.

Julian,

Excellent! I love the purposeful composition allowing the bg to be part of the image, yet not take away from this little fuzz-ball. Although I think Nick is on to something. I might consider cropping down to eliminate the light horizontal line up top, but that's minor. Well done!

Thanks, guys!

Re the crop suggestion: as I don't much like 3:2 format, I considered cropping to 3:4 but the comp really needs the extra height for overall balance - which is why I left it as shot. I take the point about the line of mist on the water, though.

Very nicely done. The detail in the dandelion is amazing, with a beautiful palette of colors to back it up. I agree with Lon on the crop of the mist.
