During my trip to the Grand Canyon I spent my middays scouting and just enjoying the scenery. One day I took the shuttle west to Hermit's Rest and stopped at all the overlooks along the way. I had no real intention to do any serious shooting but this scene from Mohave Point or The Abyss was in shade and I thought the two hoodoos seemed to be introducing themselves to each other. Since I'm not an expert on rock forms I don't know if these qualify as hoodoos but I could not resist the title. All comments welcome.>=))>

Very pretty scene Bill, love the color, detail and comp, just beautiful, as for hoodoos, don't know a thing about them, but they sound scary  . Beautiful work Bill.

Excellent image Bill. You did well finding this scene in the massive Grand Canyon. I like the colors and the glow on the canyon walls.

Very nice take on the canyon, Bill. I'm thinking I should head over and try some of these with the long winter shadows below the south rim.

Bill,

I can't help it, given the title you chose... Immediately reminded me of an all time great movie, "Blazing Saddles" when Hedley Lammar says: "Now go do... that voodoo... that YOU do... SO WELL...! " sorry.

The image is great! I think the composition is excellent! You did very well to craft this.

My only small nit is that I think it's a little strong in the purple and perhaps even overall saturation. Of course I wasn't there so the colors could have been closer than I'm thinking, but at least IMHO, the color/sat is a little strong. Not by too much though.

Excellent intimate view of the canyon, Bill. I don't see these closer comps too often from here. Goes well with the previous images from your visit.

Excellent colors and composition. I like how the hoodoos are of secondary importance and do not dominate the rest of the image. I also find the cooler colors a bit strong for my taste. Well seen and captured!

Love how the rock faces seem to glow. Nice use of diagonals. A beautiful image in my opinion. You sure came away with some incredible images from your visit to the Grand Canyon.

Bill, I like how you've focused on the one ridge with those two interesting hoodoos but kept enough information to tell the bigger story. The subtle changes in brightness and color are really nice.

The presentation is nice Bill, to be honest while i think it's a solid shot it doesn't quite grab me like most of your stuff does--i think ther elements are too widely spaced, not enough focus on the 'hoodoos' (the left wall drags my attention away from them).
