This a falls at Crater Lake National Park. It just had a trail opened up to it this last season. It is a photogenic little falls. We were there in September, I would probably have a lot more water early in the year. Thanks for your comments and critiques.

Richard - Great job with these falls under sunlit conditions. Normally a difficult task to portrey well, but I think you did an excellent job balancing shadows and highlights. By the looks of the lighting. more than 1 exposure would have been needed, unless you were able to process the RAW 2x. Any way you did it, looks very good. I like the amount of water flowing - too much water can be difficult to get that silky look that you have. My only sugggestion would be to crop out the sky and the small bright stick intruding in the lower left. These 2 bright areas don't add much to the whole image for me, so I would eliminate them. I might also try to darken those hot grasses to the right/far left of the falls and darken/add contrast to the shadows around the falls.

i'm usually not a big fan of waterfall shots with direct sunlight because processing most of the time looks awkward. you did a really good job controlling the highlights and keeping a natural look. very well done! :toast:

Hi Richard, I agree with the other comments here and also think you did a nice job with the light you had to work with. Harry made some good suggestions for this as well. It is a great looking falls.

Very nice. Perfect shutter speed for the silky water.

I like the perspective in your composition as well as the warm light. The only real nit that I would have - and it is very minor - would be to crop out the bit of blue sky above the waterfall
