The storm makes another run at Capitol Peak in Colorado. Snow trying to add a second layer. All the while, the aspen continue their change.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Excellent light and atmosphere here Morris. I like how my eye moves from the foreground aspens to the colorful hillside and then back to the peak. The larger version is beautiful.

The large version is quite spectacular! Love how the mighty mountain peak dominates the softer colorful slopes. It's the weather that makes this one special, though. Bit of a halo on the dark ridge right of center, but that's probably only on the web version.

What a great combination of elements and light, Morris. The diagonals and depth and color create a very engaging composition.

This is beautiful through and through but the light on the far mountain side is truly heartbreaking. Beautiful job.

A stunning image for me, Morris. The intense glow in the foliage is wonderfully counteracted to my eye by the forboding clouds in the distance.

A really nice comp Morris. Love the diagonal flow and the colorful aspen foliage. The distant peak and stormy skies make a fabulous bg. Great job framing this one up.

Cool, Morris! Great atmosphere, some nice light and fabulous colors! I'm maybe not as ecstatic as some of the others here, since i would like to see a bit more of Capitol, but hey ya can't have everything,

Sweet shot with the dramatic weather. I might clone out the branches that stick up above the ridge line on the left, but that's just me. Super job. :toast: :toast:

Plenty of goodies to look at in this Morris, lovely autumn colour in the trees in the foreground but also on the mountains in the middle ground topped off with a very stormy looking sky.

Cheers, Gary.

Terrific! Love the angle of color across the foreground and the colored ridges leading into the distance. The storm clouds and the partly obscured peak really make this special.

Morris, this is a beauty. I'm having a hard time bringing out all of the subtle textures and tones in the clouds in my images from CO but you have done nicely with this one. This is another image that showcases the contrast between the vibrant color and moody conditions.

Wonderful composition Morris. To me the trees seem a bit dull, even though they were not directly lit, they just seem a bit muddy to me.

What a wonderful fall image, with swirling clouds and lots of golden trees, foreground and background. Love the diagonal line of the trees in the foreground and the snowy peak. Lovely!

Beautiful Colorado autumn scenic Morris. Now I haven't read through the comments so this may be a repeat - or not, but my thought was to have a little more luminosity/brightness in the aspens. Yes, I recognize the light situation, but I'd like to see the aspens with another 1/2 stop of exposure; minor and a personal choice of course.

Love the drama in the bg, really makes this a grand scenic.

Lovely Morris. I like the diagonal and the great color. I might crop just a wee bit off the top, but that's minor.

This is cool, with the opposing diagonals, good range of aspen colors, and clouds. I like Lon's suggestion about brightness, and might also darken the bright sky to the left of Capital.
