Summer wildflowers and sunset alpenglow on Mt Adams, Goat Rocks Wilderness, Washington, August 2012.

This is another image from our backpacking trip in the Goat Rocks. The wildflowers were absolutely amazing in this area. Processing this one tonight really made me miss summer!

Nikon D800, Nikkor 24-120 G at 78 mm, no filters

Five exposure blend for DOF
- 4 images for the foreground wildflowers (all 1/13 sec at f/9, ISO 400)
- 1 image for the trees, middle ridge and mountain (1/3 sec at f/9, ISO 100)

Thanks for any comments or suggestions you have. Please check out the larger version.

Such sweet pastel color and light in this one, Scott. The great flowers, the trees, the fog layer, and the mountain rising above and the light hitting it make this a stunner. The large version is a must see!

Ummmm, that larger version is sweet!
Love the pastel skies and the beautiful undulating low clouds. And that flower field...mama!
Your 'development' of this image is absolutely flawless. You can probably make a pretty big print from that camera. Hope you go for it!

You really crafted a fine image here, Scott. The light is well done and you had some great elements to work with. I really like how the white balance is working across the frame. Warm in the sky but more neutral in the flowers and fog.

A beautiful shot Scott. Love the way the sky colors are mirrored in the flower colors. Blend looks great to me & excellent processing. Love the color and detail on the peak.

The large version showcases the wildflower field beautifully and I love those pastel colors in the sky. Print this big and hang it, Scott.

Spectacular, Scott! I'm sure that you'll consider making this into a large print.
This is a wonderful blend and good adherence to the rule of thirds. I really like
the color and light.

Love the different elements here - all combine to make a very exceptional image. The colours are especially sweet - the pastel sky along with the strong primary colours of the flowers and FG.
Just beautiful -

Incredible scene and superbly captured. Nice job.

Blending that many D800 files is a testament to modern computing power.

Stonking shot Scott, I love the depth and colours in this. A really beautiful landscape.

I am considering getting this lens, is this the F/4? How do you find it?

Cheers, Gary.

What web site did you use to order up such a wonderfully complementary color in the sky? It's a lovely scene, but the sky above the cloud sets this apart. Your blending looks perfect.

Simply beautiful, Scott. Wonderful color combined with that fog layer combine for an outstanding image. Top it off with great processing with natural vibrance and luminosity and you have icing on the cake.

The color palette is perfection. Those paintbrush just popof the screen - just the way Velvia treated shaded flowers. The separation in flower fields acts like a small brek in the image for me, but by no means a deal breaker, just breaks up my eye through the image a little. Your processing looks fantastic as usual, love that hanging fog. The sky and peak colors compliment the flowers. So easy/tempting to overdue such a ccolorful image, you have struck a perfect balance in my eyes. What a trip that must have been. :toast:

The horizontal lines of flowers, trees, ridge and cloud combine with the colors to make this very peaceful. Very nice image Scott.
