Canadian Rockies #3

Since we were going down the road and the driver, who will remain nameless (and I'm still not talking to him) wouldn't stop, I had to clone out some blurry grasses on the bottom edge of the image. This river was just above Jasper and was the only place we saw elk along or beyond the Icefields Parkway. Taken with 5D and 24-105 IS lens.

Comments appreciated.

What a beautiful scene Patrica, amazing light and color, along with your comp. Did you take this from a moving car ?, Because, if you did, that's evem moor amazing. Beautiful work.

John: Yes, I found that I've gotten pretty good at taking images from a moving car. Out the side window on this one with the wide angle lens. In this series of Canadian Rockies quite a few are from inside the car moving 50-70 mph... this one a little slower because we had just stopped to view elk along the road. The most difficult part, if shooting through the windshield, is the color has to be adjusted on every image but sharpness isn't bad... from the side window the closest vegetation is blurred but the distant scenes are pretty sharp considering. Been married for 50 years, but still have been unable to get him interested in photography!!!!

I've been lucky, Patty really likes getting out with me, she just dont take it as serious as I do, and I really enjoy her company.
Again, beautiful work.

Cool stories Patricia - and from a moving car, this is phenomenal.

I travel alone (with my 2 dogs - but they LIKE to stop and get out). Sometimes a driver who won't stop would help keep us on schedule - one day I was able to get the 18 miles from Madison campground to Old Faithful.... it took about 10 hours, but I made it

I do love your image - this area is "my backyard" and your capture here has done it justice.

No excuse Patricia, you should have just jumped out of the vehicle. A couple rolls to a stop and you could have set up real quick for this pretty scene here.

I have a driver like that... I can count on getting him pulled over about three times a day when we're traveling. This is beautiful. I've always been afraid to shoot from a moving car but I may have to start practicing. You've got it down to a science. Excellent composition and beautiful light and color. I'm very impressed.

Patricia: I remember this place from our trip in 2009. I actually went down to the lake and promptly sunk my waders about a foot deep in the mud. It was a real chore just extricating myself from the goo but I got a nice pano of the mountains on the left of your frame. Nicely done. >=))>
