Sunrise on the Platte

This was taken this morning. I have thought about this image for a while. I will work on different compositions especially as the sun moves south and is more in line with the river. This was shot at f25 by inattention. I was changing exposure and instead of dialing the shutter speed, I evidently dialed the aperture instead. I was intent on looking at the exposure meter and missed the aperture. I did correct it a few frames later. I was unsure about the plants on the lower right corner. I tried cloning them out, but it just looked to empty. They seem to add some balance to the image. Thanks in advance for all of your comments and critiques.

I like the pastel glow everything has from the sunrise. Beautiful color palette, and I like the ripples adding texture to the water. I think the plants in the lrc counter balance the weight of the left side, so I say keep them. A very peaceful and calm feeling to this one, too.

There are a few dust spots to clean up, but I'm sure you'll do that before you print this one.

Hey Richard, I really like this shot but am not sure about the bush in the lower right. I guess maybe since you mentioned it, I keep looking at it.

At first glance, it strikes me as being somewhat oversaturated. I like the composition. For me, the plants on the right neither help nor hurt - they're neutral. I love the texture of the water and the reflected color there.

I think the plants in the lrc are a nice detail and help balance the image. I love the ripples in the water and the graceful currents. this is a lovely image. Nice job

Fantastic light, Richard. Overall I like your composition - the vegetation in the lower right hand corner is a little distracting but really is very minor. That reflected color is splendid!!

Looks great, Richard. I like the plants in the lrc, to me they help emphasize the curve of the river. Lovely colors in the sky and the ripples in the river are a great addition.

I too am a bit distracted by that bush Richard, but it's really very minor. And the dust spots were already mentioned. Gorgeous light you captured!
