Wagon Hill Fields
by Harry Lichtman
I pass this field nearly every day, which is part of a larger conservation area in Durham, NH. A great place to walk the dog and sleigh ride in the winter. The clear skies ruined my earlier photo attempts elsewhere this morning and I was heading home with coffees for my wife and I. The coffees would get a little cold. Fog was still in the fields, as the sun had not yet had time to rise high enough to evaporate the moisture. I quickly set up near these lustrife and took a series of shots (for focal blending if needed) just before the sun had illuminated the FG flowers, since the fog layer was thick and flare controlled. As the sun rose above the trees and fog to the far left, I took a couple more shots as the sun grazed and backlit the flowers. These exposures were much better for the flowers, the earlier exposure much better for everything else. Windless conditions allowed for a relatively easy blend.

The fog is a wonderful touch.
If I was being critical I would soften the contrast and sharpening on the image a smidge.
