Gentle Sunrise

A favorite haunt of mine that I revisit often to view the different lighting effects each new day brings. This time I zoomed in with the 100-400 on a distant island grouping at dawn. I personally find this very peaceful and soothing. Taken with Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens.

Pat, it would help to evaluate the image if you had included a larger version of the scene. In this smaller version it seem to lack detail, but that is hard to judge at this size. It is a peaceful scene with the calm waters.The light is very gentle.

Richard, the image is 1024 in width and I believe that is as large as I can make it. If I am wrong please let me know. I did forget to sharpen before posting, but I can assure you the detail is there. Sorry.

This is very nice! I do wish you had included a larger version but, even so, I'm really enjoying this. This exudes serenity and a general feeling of hope. I wish I was there! I might tone down the brighter areas just a little.
