Post Storm Sunset

This photo was taken yesterday evening after a nasty thunderstorm moved through. When I saw my living room fill with greenish/yellow light I knew I had to head down to the water and see what I could get. This image was intentionally underexposed to create a bit more mood. Noticed the dock lights on the right hand side.

Nikon D300s 18-200mm HH
f/5.6
1/1000s
ISO 250
-1 EC

Full Frame, minor adjustments and very minor clone in CS5

That is an impressive sunset! I like the dark exposure, but I think the amount of black detracts a bit from the sunset. Perhaps more of a pano crop that eliminates some of the black on the bottom would put more emphasis on the sky.

Luke,
I really like this sunset. I do agree with Wayne, the larger version on my screen cuts the top and bottom off to about where the light begins and leaves the sides in tact pano style. It has a nicer feel without the darker dead space and still has enough of the dark mixed with the light in the sky and water to have the mood you are going for IMO. Thanks for sharing.

I like the dark drama of this interpretation.
