I really like the "drenched" look Morris, BG works well too.
Nice color and soft light, well done

Nice color and nice use of the rain drops Morris. I am not sure about the comp overall - the stalk seems to sort of feel like it is falling away from me.

Hey, Morris!! These flowers are so intriguing and yet so difficult to capture. I think the dark top is distracting (although I don't know how to avoid it since you need to be on the right plane of focus to maximize DOF). I really like the drops to add interest and really highlight the structure of the flowers!

I'm not acquainted with this flower; is that its real name? They really do look like elephant heads! Love the color of the flower and the raindrops covering it. Good details on the flower with a nice blurred background. The dark area up top is somewhat distracting but not a deal breaker to me.

Thanks for your comments everyone.
Nathan, it is curving away. So, with your observation and Anne's, it looks like it could use a crop off of the top.
Hey, Anne! Long time no talkie.
Carolyn, it actually is the name of the flowers, and a close look tells why for sure.

Morris - A bigger frame would show a lot more fine details - specially those tiny water droplets. A close inspection does indeed show that the stem is curving away from the viewer. It is what it is.
About the only thing that would have been great here is an uniform background. The darker portion in the top takes away some impact.

Morris:
The main interests seem to be the rain drops the trunks in the middle. A crop of top may help to counter the slanting away and the dark not in focus area.

Another vote for a crop from the top to eliminate the OOF top and the dark portion of the BG. Sure wish we had more of these in the Washington mtns....

Beautiful colors and raindrops! I agree with the others who suggested a crop from the top.

Morris: Aptly titled flowers I might like a touch more DOF, even as much as f11. Wonderful subject superbly captured. >=))>
