Straight-Up

No stacking, no BG blur, no flash..just a simple "straight-up" shot of this foxglove beginning to bloom. I like it "simply" for its progressive symmetry/view of the forming buds..
I'm a simple man
F/6.3, 1/40th, ISO 500, 1D M3, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 lens.

Simply beautiful and well done. I suggest a slight angle tilt from bottom left to upper right might fill frame better but this is two thumbs up :toast:

I love the simplicity & repetition! Beautiful lighting! I also think the way you composed it works great.

This tells a great story of "progression." Excellent symmetry, nice background, perfect dof.

What I love about shots like this is that it really highlights the complexity of a very straightforward bloom. There are so many perfect little parts that all come together to create this masterpiece of nature. I love this for all of those reasons and for the pristine look of this foxglove!

It is so cool to scroll down from the top of this picture; it looks like the buds are forming before my eyes! :jump: Wonderful, simple shot showing that a plants' beauty isn't only in its flower. Great details, wonderful background, and nice comp. Good vision, Howard!

Howard - Lovely Floral Ladder  . I don't know if you noticed, scrolling the screen plays some games on the eyes. The super smooth silky background really adds to the aesthetics.

Love the green on green. The repetitive patterns holds the viewers attention. Would be fun to follow this as it continues to bloom.

Howard: Great plane of focus management and a very effective capture and comp with the most complementary BG. Ditto what Ram said about scrolling. Most excellent! >=))>
