Into the Light

I was fortunate to have traveled to Nome Alaska with Ken Archer, co-guide with Nate Chappell’s Trogon Tours (.net) when I captured this image. We were out on North Council Road at midnight photographing Yellow Warblers and other birds when this little girl stepped out of the bushes and onto the road just above us. She was so close I could only get her shoulder and head into view as she walked out of the shadow and into the setting sunlight! I know she was a her because as I was photographing her she squatted and piddled :)
No Photoshop-just slight cropping and feedback is welcome.

Very nice, I like the light on this girl. You can see the eye on her left side, but it would have been nice if you had been able to get just a bit more light in that area. Looks good as it is. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Marty and welcome to NPN. The light fall on the fox is certainly striking as well as appealing in this image. Personally I would try to reduce the contrast a little and recover some detail in the brightest areas of the fur, which seem a bit 'hot'. Looking forward to more of your work as well as comments in this Gallery.

You did well even getting a photo of this quick gal when she surprised us that night, I didn't get a single image of her. You handled that tricky light very well too. But, It does seem a bit contrasty to me also.

Looking forward to next year
