Wild Geranium

Not real artistic shot but the wild geraniums have been going so crazy around here that I had to shoot a few. There are thousands of them within a few minutes walk of my home. Unfortunately there are also millions of mosquitos within the same radius...

I like this a lot Dan. My only little nit is that I don't like the infringement of the back side bloom. Just me, but a mighty nice portrait.

+1 to what Robert said. Perhaps some cloning or if you have PS6 image aware fill. All in focus with nice DOF well done.

My sympathies on the mosquitoes-- a real deal breaker for going out to shoot. So you get the bravery award for this one.
I like the detail in the flower and the clean bg. The flower is uncomfortably close to the left edge. Could be better by cloning out the bit of purple petal at the edge, but more so, a different angle on the flower in the field, if that was possible. Hope you show us some more of these-- protecting yourself from the bites, though...

Thanks for the comments, folks. I walked this evening and there are still enough fresh blooms to take another stab at a better photo if the weather improves (wind/rain today).

Dan: Many times these little guys don't lend themselves to a solitary portrait. I think I would like a slightly wider view including the bloom on the left unless it was too scruffy. Wonderful details on the bloom and buds in the BG. >=))>
