I really found the vein and texture amazing on these plants.
D80, 210mm, F32 @ 4 sec
Let me know what you think.. I'm not sure about this new monitor as is yet to be calibrated. I printed an 8x10 and I wasn't happy with the outcome.
Thanks
Bob

I'm looking at this on a laptop so my impressions may be off but the color and brightness look fine. It does appear a little soft, however, and I'm wondering if perhaps you are running into diffraction issues shooting at f32?
What weren't you happy with in the print?

Bob--I love the green and the light. I love the pattern made by the leaf veins. The softness just isn't doing it for me. Perhaps bigger it would grab me more. Try it again and make it look just like this only different.

Robert, I love the pattern in the leaf! The light and comp are excellent. Probably could emphasize the pattern even more, but this image looks a little too soft to do it.
Couple suggestions: 1.) Try a closeup (similar to this comp) with a wide angle lens. It will bring you close to the plant, but will help you on the dof, so perhaps you won't have to use such a tiny aperture and long exposure. 2.) Try different settings on the unsharp mask sliders. It is possible to increase contrast subtly along with sharpness, without it looking too crispy or otherwise unnatural. Hope that helps.

Another fine use of lines. Yes, it could use a touch more sharpening. Love the color and light play.

Beautiful color. Has the look of soft leather.
