Lily of the Valley

by Carolyn Derstine

I recently re-edited this image I found in searching through my files. These lily-of-the-valley flowers bloom in the spring in my flower bed and have such a pleasing scent.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/32 for 2.5 sec. ISO 400.

I think I remember seeing this before...I liked it a lot then, I like it now! How did you change it?

This is actually a different image, Eirini. I had shot many that day that were similar. I liked the flowers better on this shot but I had the comp too tight (a problem I tend to have. ). I added more room around the image by cloning and did some burning of selected areas of the leaves.

Caroline: One of the finest lily of the valley shots I've seen here in a long time and I have a good memory. Superb shot.>=))>

Wonderful image - the texture of the leaves, bright flowers, and overall comp are just great.
Nice processing - very undetectable.

Lovely, lovely image, Carolyn, with all the flowers nicely detailed. I like the nuances of the light on them and the leaves. Adding area to the comp was a good idea; sure looks good- very pleasing arrangement and not cramped.
