Goatsbeard Seedhead (With Repost)

I did not have unrestricted access to this seedhead - would have been really nice to explore compositions up close. This was growing inside the flower bed in the local gardens and stepping there is a big no-no.

This is what I have anyway (and some more).

ND300s, AFD200mm F/4 Micronikkor with 36mm ET @ F/5.6, 1/250 Sec, ISO400, Plamp with diffuser held in my hand (no reach fixed to my tripod leg) and tripod mounted. Thanks a lot for your generous comments on Daylily and do let me know if you like this one.

Ram: I love these seed heads and the fantastic comp possibilities. I like this very much as posted and also see some merit for a crop to 5:4 from the right to emphasize the centers a bit more and almost make it look like a cell array. Superbly done.>=))>

Excellent job of getting this one without breaking the rules
I like the plane of focus, it's right where it needs to be.
I agree with Bill about the other framing option to consider..
Very nice Ram :toast:

Nice close-up view of this interesting seedhead. I like the combination of textures--the wispiness contrasting with the distinct lines. I agree a crop from the right might be a good option.

Repost with a different composition in line with the suggestions made. Modified the White Balance also to something more truthful to the subject.

Beautifully done, Ram ! I think the repost better as regards the WB but I rather like the soft lead in from the R of the original - that to me is more interesting.

Very nice Ram. Great point of focus, and a nice effect with the DOF that you chose. I like it a lot.

Just saw the repost - I think that I like the original best.

I prefer the original although would be tempted to crop just a bit from the right side of that one.
Terrific detail in the left centered portion thus drawing the eye to that area first. Nice stuff.

Ram, I really like the sense of a cellular structure with soft edges and sharp centers. I agree with the crop suggestion. The repost takes care of that very nicely.
