Meadow buddies

These two wildflowers were hanging out together in a mountain meadow. I believe they are a Buttercup and a Star Chickweed. I liked the way the seeds from the Chickweed landed on the Buttercup. I also thought the bud on the left added interest; it looks like a finger pointing towards the flowers.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/7.1 for 1/60 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

Carolyn - Great pairing and many different interpretations possible with that "finger pointing" bud. The bud and the white bloom being at an diagonal solidifies the composition for me.

Yellows look a bit hot on my monitor which is now a pretty old one.

I really like the pairing of these two delicate beauties Carolyn.
This side by side view contrasts the two different forms & structures very nicely :toast:

Lovely idea, Carolyn - these work beautifully together. Like Ram I find the yellows just a touch bright, but otherwise love the overall comp and colour harmonies.

Interesting comparison Carolyn. I like the pairing quite a bit. It was not clear to me that the seeds had fallen on the buttercup - so without being able to tell people that, you might want to clone them out. Overall a very nice photo.

Love the composition and pairing. It pays to look down as you're walking through those mountain meadows.

I agree with Nathan's suggestion re: the seeds.

I really like your comp. and the pointy finger is a nice addition. Both the yellow and the white seem blotchy to me, which may be a compression problem.

What they said! the yellow/white pairing with the green background is sweet, but it does look like there is a loss of detail in the yellow flower.

I agree the yellow petals have lost some detail but that could be due to compression. I love the vibrant colors, DOF and the comp!
