Bite Me

In this image, one of the grapes fills the void where the leaf's been partially chewed away.
So the title has basically two meanings, because the ripe grapes also beg to be eaten.
Wild grape is also known as muscadine, scuppernong, and southern fox grape, and is valued for its edible, tasty fruit. We have a very large area filled with this plant here in Central Texas.

And everything's bigger in Texas:wink:
F/5.6, 1/30th, ISO 500, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 at first light.

I believe there is a place for less than perfect specimens in this forum, too. (As most probably do). The leaf tells a story of past activity. I like the title as much as the image itself....

Back in the day when I was a "ground grunt" forester, I always looked forward to forage season in the woods. Usually the birds and squirrels beat me to these, but they were high on my list of edibles on a hot day. Makes my mouth water!

Good photo and title.

Howard:
Looks delicious. Like your title for this image as well. I would not quibble about the chewed leaf in this image as the looks grapes are so inviting.

The grapes look luscious especially with the water drops. Nice job with the grape to filling in for the eaten leaf. We made a wonderful jelly out of these when I was a kid, last century.

Howard - I don't like that chewed leaf  - I am kidding of course. I like how that chewed portion actually frames the bunch in the left so very well.

Beautiful shot that works great exactly as presented for me. Well done.

Those look good enough to eat, or at least make jelly out of. Nice comp, light, and color.
