Sunrise rush
by Peter Coskun
I shot this during my morning visit to Mcgee creek. I was looking for a comp facing the opposite direction and have an opening to view the mountain peaks, but that became unsuccessful. I turned around and saw the sun just beginning to show through the trees so I tried to angle the camera to create a sunburst towards the "end" of the rushing water. I was hoping to get a slightly larger sunstar, but this is about the best my lens can do (at least from my experience thus far). I always enjoy photographing moving water since I rarely get the chance and enjoyed the cool morning breeze through the trees and the vibrant colors along the creeks edge. Playing with some new processing techniques as well. As usual, comments and critiques are welcome.

Never would have guessed McGee Creek! But I'm so glad you mentioned the name. This looks to me to be right above the horse stables? Just wondering.
This is wonderful! Great job with the exposure/processing and I'm really enjoying the composition. I'm wishing there was some sharpness in the rock in the foreground, but completely understand the flowing water doesn't allow for that (hard to say though.)
Love it!

Lon, I can't recall if there were horse stables near here, I remember passing them on the drive in but that was about a mile or so before hand (I think). The water was really rushing here and with a little careful processing I was able to get the image to "pop" a bit. Like you said I wish there was some more sharpness on that foreground rock, but the water flowing over that rock was about 5 inches which is hard to believe, so it was quite difficult to keep that sharp.
