Derwentwater

Pre-sunrise mists over Derwentwater in the Lake District NP, UK taken last Autumn.

I wasn't sure about cloning out the ducks on the lake but went with them.

All feedback is welcome and thanks for looking.

The pastel tones and atmospherics here make for a wonderful shot. I like your chosen composition, and I think the ducks add to the photo --- especially when viewed large.

Beautiful scene, Gary. The soft pastel color evokes a peaceful mood and I like the layers in the mountains and the mist rising from the lake. My vote is to keep the ducks because they add to the mood and the experience!!!

i love those pastel colors. I would keep the ducks, they add a lot to the scene espcially in the large version.

Delightfully serene scene. The ducks definitely contribute to the mood, so I'm glad you kept them in! Wildlife in a landscape shot almost always makes it better

Beautiful - the colours are exquisite, the mist and softness very effective.
The ducks add a lot of interest.

This is stunning. I love the misty mood and subtle color graduations. I'll go against prevailing opinion and vote to clone out the ducks. They are too small in the scheme of things for the viewer to be sure of their identity and they interrupt the surreal mood. At least those are my thoughts. Beautiful image, very well captured

Gorgeous! I am a little undecided on the ducks but lean towards cloning them out as they are so small.

Delightful Gary. I think I remember something similar to this from you once before. It made an impression on me then then and it has done so once again..

A study in pastels! This could be used in place of Valium to relax someone and sooth the soul. Ultimate serenity and beauty. Glad you left the ducks too.

Truly beautiful. It is such a peaceful scene. The ducks are interesting -- I would be tempted to clone them out too, but they kind of anchor the image in reality.

A dreamy mood - the duck question, hmmm. If they were recognizeable as ducks, I might say keep them. Even with the large version, I'm still unsure if they are rocks. A little soft. So I would say nuke 'em. What a morning to go paddling on this lake.

Striking, Gary! I like everything about this and have no suggestions for changes.
The pastel colors work for me as does the layeirng. The ducks are all right. This
has a spiritual mood. Also thank for your recent critique of my posting in Man and
Nature.

Gorgeous pastel tones here Gary. One of my favorite color combinations as well. The ducks add a sense of scale, especially in the large version. Ethereal and beautiful!

Hi Gary,

Incredible image. Sorry it took so long to comment. The only suggestion I have is at least to me - it looks maybe a little bit bright. For what it's worth - I like the ducks too! I hope you get landscape image of the week with this one!
Awesome!
