This one is for Barbara Graham in response to her great question on small birds. This was taken in my backyard where I do have a bird feeder set up. I Was sitting in a lawn chair under a camo blanket near a tree that the birds fly in and out of to get to the feeder. I was probably no more than 12 to 15 feet away from the bird when I got this shot off. I did crop the sides a little to make it the correct size for an 8 x 10 print.

D7000, 300mm, f/8, 1/640 sec., tripod, with fill flash.

Walt,

Nice detail and comp here. I have used the camo cover offered on the web site store here (~$99) and at times can reach out and touch them also. :wavey:

Oh, this is just beautiful, Walt. The light is amazing, and the colors are so nice and soft. The detail is stellar. In the larger version the bird looks as if it could just step off of my screen.

Terrific detail and excellent techs. The comp is just a bit too centered for my taste, and if it were mine, I'd consider a vertical crop. Minor nits on a fine shot.
