I am reposting this as I had problems with the uploading of the image previously. I apologise for having prior comments deleted. Recommenting would be appreciated, of course.

As I said earlier, I had a very magical dawn shoot last week at a B.C. Interior lake in zero temperatures (Celcius), clear sky, and a ghost-like mist coming off the lake. I had concentrated on the one and two-day old chicks in my efforts that morning - done by 7:30 and drove the 4+ hours home after breakfast feeling very satisfied with both meal and shoot.

1D MkIV, 600mm II, ISO800, tripod on electric-motor driven boat, no flash.

I said in the first posting that I loved this. :) The light and colors are wonderful, and of course the subjects and their positions are amazing. Great job on exposure.

If the meal was as fine as this photo, you have every reason to be satisfied. Superb work, Kwan. Wonderful light on the chick.

You sure got the angle just right on this one, KC. Great to get the feeding shot with the head turn on the "carrier"......

Looks much better than your previous post Kwan  Great interaction you captured here, I wish the feeding parents eye stood out a bit more but nothing you could have done about that. :toast:

I like the tight grouping of the family and the animated open-beak of the one youngster. Quite different than the loon images I have viewed in the past. :toast:
