Castle Rock moonrise

Castle Rock is a singular rock formation in western Kansas, though it rests next to a large section of badlands. There used to be more to the formation, but part fell several years back in a thunderstorm. I took this last weekend, as the full moon rose at sunset. A low cloud bank hid the moon for the first few minutes. I zoomed in and then merged 6 images to create this image, with the moon looming large due to the telephoto effect. C&C always welcome and appreciated.

Well done on the merge - this is cool! The sharpness, detail and location of the moon is excellent. If only there were better light on the rock...

Good use of shapes and simplicity. Nicely juxtaposed elements.

I agree with Doug. It looks like more light on the rock texture would really enhance this image. Good composition.
