These Forget-me-nots are at the peak of bloom with the plant covered in blue flowers. A close-up of these flowers shows many other OOF flowers in the background.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/4.5 for 1/15 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

After I posted this I thought maybe it looked too dark. Here is a lighter version. Which do you like better?

Carolyn:
Very interesting effect like image taken in artificial blue lighting. Both images are fine; I like the mood of the dark bg in the first and the brighter petals with the sparkles in the second. Maybe selective brightening of the blooms will be just perfect.

I think the repost looks more natural or true to life.
The darker version tipped the scales a bit with the blue IMO..
Attractive grouping and I like your point of focus using this short DOF.
Blue's my fav color too
Well done Carolyn :wavey:

Carolyn - I like the repost but the original looks great too. Nice to yellow at the center on one of the blooms and the arc from the stem holding the blooms.

Good Work

I like the second. Looks more natural, and the ghost lines are less obvious. I like the arc (Golden Mean) and the shallow DOF.

Hey Carolyn,
Not normally a fan of shallow DOF....but it works very well here. I am a bit bothered by the strong arc below the main blooms as it competes with the dreamy look for me.

The lighter version works for me Carolyn. I like the plane of focus and the grouping of blooms. Very nicely done.

Hi Carolyn :wavey: I prefer the second one, it's a little less saturated, and more natural looking. stunning color, lines and light :jump:
