Canon 30d, f8, 1/25. Have a b&w version that isn't as dramatic, so thought I'd post this first. Comments most welcome.

Hi Lucy :wavey: this is an unusual and creative composition that catches the eye. i like the different green tones here.... but to be picky, the light is a bit harsh, and should have been difused, to make this nice image even be better, but this is subjective., perhaps some people like this kind of vibrant light

Lucy - My thoughts are similar to Albert's. This Calla is unique, I don't see this kind commonly here.

I like the large leaves which beautifully frame the Calla but I think the large whitish leaf in the top left corner is seeking some attention.

Lucy:

An uncommon looking Calla which undoubtedly is the star of the image. The leaves are trying to steal attention away from the main subject though.

Lush, sensuous feel to this, Lucy, which on the whole I like - just some areas seem a bit too dark. Very original and effective composition.

Thanks all for checking in. Really helpful. Yes I went back and forth quite a bit, esp with levels trying to decide how much to emphasize the leaves, and flower in upper left corner, which I like but didn't want them to detract from the flower. Seems like there may not be an ideal solution to this image.

HI Lucy,, the central image is so striking with the swirl..... maybe to have concentrated on that.... the swirling lines are what draws my eye....... :wavey:
