It's good documentation, Dennis, but the photo has some challenges. The bird is soft throughout, and the blotchy white background is very distracting. Backlit like this, it would be a tough shot in the best of circumstances, but I'd say you needed to move to a position that gave you a darker background and maybe trade more depth of field for less shutter speed.

I agree with Jim's critique Dennis. Fill flash would also help make the bird pop more and dampen the harshness of the background.
