Still A Small World

This is another in the series taken in Alaska last fall. I did not think of close up images when I traveled to Alaska. In fact, needing to save space for wildlife lenses and wide angle zooms I did not even bring a macro lens. But hey, take what you can get with a 24-70 mm. Taken near Talkeetna on a overcast-cloudy morning.

Lovely color blend. I hope you made it into Denali; beautiful, even on an overcast day.

Probably belongs in the flora gallery. :toast:

I really like the vibrant color here. I know from experience that these kinds of shots are not as easy as they might seem. I think you have arranged the elements nicely in this scene and it is a very compelling image overall. I'm not too sure about the yellow / brown vegetation in the upper left hand corner. It might be worth considering a crop of this area but that is a minor suggestion.

A nice image, but I do think I prefer the previous one your posted. Still, this one is certainly nice and pleasing to look at.

Very nice Tom. I really like the vivid colors and enjoy the comp. The birch trunks add such a nice element to this. Nice work!
I think this works fine in Landscape gallery.

I really like this, Tom, what a super combo of 'stuff'!
The red border has got to go, tho, i would recommend black.

Wonderful variety of leaf shape and color. The fallen logs add some really nice structure. Beautiful composition.

The colors are great, but I think I liked the tighter comp on the first one. The ULC on this one feels a bit chaotic.

Thanks for all of the comments. You're right Stan. The Ohio State border color scheme probably does not work. One other note. On my monitor the post is more saturated than I am usually comfortable with. I have attempted to tone it down a little.

Love it, nice colors and nice composition. The white in the birch really sets off nicely against the greens, red and yellows.

I love these shots. Lots of color and interest that is not overwhelming to the eye.

The repost is perfecto! I love the coors and the subject matter. I would be very happy to shoot this regardless of the state I was in!

Tom, I agree with Chris! The repost looks perfect. I also think the new black border works so much better!
