Blossom Blizzard

Some of the older trees, covered in moss and lichen, delight with Spring blossoms and make a lengthy, gloomy Pacific NW winter disappear in a heartbeat.

I took this in early evening in low angle, filtered sunlight. More compression than I wanted for posting to meet the sizes; dunno if I did such a great job on that part…

Nice little Pacific Northwest scene, it is all around this time of the year in Seattle. I like the lines of the branches in between all of the blossom, interesting how the tree on the right fits in. Well captured, we are out of grey :).

A very nice view of the blossom, spring seems like it's on it's way nicely judging from all the images in this gallery! While i do like the current presentation a lot, I might also be tempted to play around with a crop that focusses soley on the blossom and cuts out the greens. :wavey:

Nice shot Catherine, I like the composition a lot. I agree with Jorne that an equally good image might be the frame filled with just blossoms and branches.

Flowering trees. Really, you've got to love this planet when you see something like this.

A convincing presentation of this wonderful scene to me, Catherine. Your composition works impressively for me, the trunks and branches anchore the image nicely and the greens complement the blossom very well in my opinion. Your crop is spot on to my eye.

I really like what you have done here Catherine! You captured the character of the tree perfectly by including those graceful limbs along with the spring blossoms. I also like the greenery at the bottom. This looks like it would make a beautiful print with all the fine details. :toast:
