I captured this just after sunset last night on Lake Superior's North Shore.
Exposure was around 60 seconds, F/11 with the help of a 3 stop hard edge Grad ND.

Excellent! The composition is very solid and the long exposure creates a wonderful mood. I like this very much.

This has a real nice mood to it, Shawn, and the rock in the FG also has some great character. I like this a lot.

Like the simple monochromatic blue palette and the curve of the rocks. I would probably render the blue a little more neutrally but that is just my personal taste. Love the curving rock and suitably moody sky.

Love the ultraviolet blues Shawn but the comp and its simplicity is what really catches my attention.

Moody and mysterious; I love this, Shawn. The shoreline rocks are perfectly placed as a lead in to draw you into this image. :toast:

Shawn, this is beautiful. Love the tranquil colours (colour?) And simply wonderful lines and comp. You nailed this one, IMO. I have to add that I love your choice of design on your signature/copyright line. Very, very cool and professional.

Shawn,

I absolutely love the mood and the blue tones here. Simple and yet somewhat powerful too. The only suggestion I have would be a slight crop from the top. I say that because your comp is showing en emphasis on the rock and water, but it kind feels too like you wanted to include the sky; which to me causes a little back-and-forth for the eye not knowing which part is more important. The sky is great, but I'd like a little less just to make sure we know what the main subject is. Otherwise, I'm really lovin' this one. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful! I would agree with Lon's suggestion, but minor stuff. Great mood and image.

Your large version seems to be the same size as your small one??
