I'm currently working on a series of photographs which portray people in their working lives as they toil in every day jobs. Jobs, that most of us rarely think about. As I work on the series, I'm gaining far more admiration for the butchers, the bakers, the candlestick makers, the shoe cobblers, the car washers, and in this case, the operators of heavy equipment.
This man was moving tons of rocks debris with a giant piece of equipment.
I took the image quite a while back when I was meandering around the back streets in an industrial section of Las Vegas.
I reprocessed the image using CS5 and NIK software to accentuate the man climbing into the cab of this large truck/caterpillar of a device.
The image was shot with a D200, a 24-85mm lens @ 85mm, f/7.1, 1/640s, matrix metering, ISO 100. Most likely I shot handheld since I was 'lurking.'
Thanks for looking and leaving your comments.
So far I have three images in this series ... They can be seen on:
my account on zenfolio.
Cheers,
Carol

I like your choice of processing. Capturing the man ascending into the cab
when you did creates a feeling of movement for me. Well done.
Well done Carol.
