Very well balanced. Good detail. Might crop a little of the light area at the top out. but I like this as is too. :toast:

What a fun shot! I especially like the open mouth with whiskers of the top fellow!

Very nice composition, Mario. Like how you have included the eyes of both the elephants. The bg is unfortunate, though.

Hi Mario,

Nice capture and composition of a very "touching" interaction (pardon the pun). The textures come out well and the B&W conversion and toning is nice. Like Ajit and Gary, I find the bright zone at the top of the image a bit unfortunate - would prefer to have the elephants filling the entire frame (for a more abstract approach), but it appears that this isn't possible via cropping (the eye of the elephant on the left would be too close to the top of the frame).

You might want to consider including a little more technical data with your commentary on the image. Often it improves the quality of the feedback that viewers can give plus it can be a good learning tool for others viewing the image - sharing of information is good.

Cheers...

Brad

PS: Please don't hesitate to jump in and comment on the images of others - I know the recommended ratio of 5 comments for every image post can be tough to maintain, but getting a little closer to this comment:image ratio would be appreciated. I know many newer members are a little hesitant to leave comments, but ultimately the success of all the galleries are determined largely by the comments members leave on the images that are posted. And, I'm sure you'll find that once you get into the regular practice of creating your own critiques that you'll think more about, and improve, your own photography.

If you're unsure or uneasy about commenting/"critiquing" there are several good resources on this website discussing it. Start right here:

http://www.naturephotographers.net/postguide-2.html

This page discusses the critiquing process and provides links to a number of articles on critiquing ("The Art of Image Critique" and "More Thoughts on Photo Critique.").

Very cool image, but yes, wish you could tone down the bright BG at top.
