Rainbow and Gold (repost)

Photographed in Southern Alberta. A sudden rainfall triggered a very intense rainbow. Actually, even the secondary rainbow was visible (though not in the capture).

Canon 7D, EFS 15-85 at 85, ISO 1250 (I had forgotten about that one from my bird set up), 1/3200 at f/9.

Nice capture of the rainbow, with a pretty pastoral scene.

You'll have to buy a telephoto to get the leprachaun next time. :jump:

very nice catch.
i was wondering if the ground could be a little less saturated... (and it seems tou have 2 weird white points on the right horizon)

Thank you all for viewing and for your comments. Embedded is a version with less saturation in the ground. I'm using a non-calibrated monitor. In fact I have 2 identical monitors and they do dislay colors somewhat differently. Plus, I often like saturated colors, so I probably have overdone it. There was a similar comment re saturation for another of my photos. It's time to plan for a monitor calibration package.

The two white spots are probably farm buildings. I have left them in for now.

I forgot to mention that the processing was done in LR3.

Thanks.

Great timing Roger. You handled this well in my opinion, I wouldn't change a thing.

I think I like the first version better than your second one Roger. But I guess I am one who likes the bright light too.

Wonderful light! I don't think this is oversaturated by any means. Looks fine to me. Did you get the gold??
