The picture was taken really close to the tree. After this picture the female got angry with us an come down from the tree toward the jeep but disappear between the bush. I get some kind of scare...

Hi Juan,

This is one of those images where what I like about it is the same thing as what I don't like about it. Let me explain. From a documentary perspective I quite like how the leopard is easily lost and challenging to see - that spotted coat really breaks up it's outline and with the light filtering through from behind it would be SO easy to miss this guy when in the field. So an interesting shot showing the animal's effective natural camouflage. From a photographic or creative perspective...well...with that bright light shineing through and the subject in the shade, well...the subject doesn't stand out very well and the shot loses some of its effectiveness! I hope this makes some sense to you!

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Brad

PS: Please don't hesitate to jump in and comment on the images of others - I know the recommended ratio of 5 comments for every image post can be tough to maintain, but getting a little closer to this comment:image ratio would be appreciated. I know many newer members are a little hesitant to leave comments, but ultimately the success of all the galleries are determined largely by the comments members leave on the images that are posted. And, I'm sure you'll find that once you get into the regular practice of creating your own critiques that you'll think more about, and improve, your own photography.

If you're unsure or uneasy about commenting/"critiquing" there are several good resources on this website discussing it. Start right here:

This page discusses the critiquing process and provides links to a number of articles on critiquing ("The Art of Image Critique" and "More Thoughts on Photo Critique.").

What an impressive subject, Juan. You did as well as possible in getting this against that bright sky. Did you manage to get other perspectives as she came down and approached?
