"GOLDEN TEMPLE"

While out at a remote area of Arizona last Month, I was using my Land Rover to help out Marc Adamus with transporting several of his tour groups to this location.

Exploring these sandstone formations was like being a "kid in a candy store"!! I still have some cool abstracts I am still working with from this location. Here is one image I did capture at sunrise. The sun was just breaking the ridge to the east, and the rest is now history :big grin:

This JPG file was taken from the file used for print, so it may not be perfect for web

Any comments are always appreciated.

I like the simple feel here, and the strong, bold leading lines. Great colors, also!

Love the effective use of lines leading to the top of the formation. The warm light, clouds are a great asset to the comp. Nice one, James!

Great Light and texture on this. Love it! I wonder what this kind of light would look like on devils tower? Hmm

Great volcano feel to the image, with the rock leading to the light leading to the clouds. Beautifully done.

Thanks for the feedback! It is a simple image, for the public  it does have a volcano feel to this scene. Mark Metternich has a few images of the same formation during different conditions.

I'm nothing, if not simple.... but I think this is a striking image...
It has enough strong elements to keep me interested...
Excellent capture and processing

Fantastic. That touch of light as well as the subtle light in the close foreground together with the glow in the clouds makes this one amazing image.

The lighting and colour here are really nice James, the textures in the sandstone are facinating.

James.

Fantastic! Nothing like unique and captivating formations combined with special light and conditions. This is gorgeous. I love the near/far detail throughout. Yummy!

The small nit is just my personal preference, but the saturation in the sky is a notch strong - but not by very much and of course a personal choice anyway.

I like this one a lot James. The golden color on the top leads my eye right up this amazing texture of "mars". Well done comp wise too. All around great image!

Nice James. Looks like you must have used a wide angle lens. I would appreciate some details on how you shot it. It does help me to think through your process which I find educational. Thanks.
