The Junction

Another image from my Granite Landscapes series. This one is from a location called 'The Junction' at Girraween National Park. It stormed just about the whole trip, and this particular afternoon produced a wicked lightening storm soon after this image was taken. I like the repetitive triangular shapes of this comp.

D80, 18-200 lens @18mm, f/11. Two blended shots for land & sky.

Thanks again for your c&c, it is very much appreciated.

David, Great image and excellent processing...I'd really love to see a 20x30 of this in person...

Incredible image! So far, this is my favorite, and I see what you mean about the repeating triangles. Very neat. There's a ton to look at in this, and usually I don't care for those kind of shots, but this one stands out. I'm really enjoying looking at every layer of this, each one contributing to the final image. The hill being partially lit, while dark clouds hang just above gives a great sense of motion, or change in this... TFS!

Nice one David, great light there and enjoy the zigzag of the different layers.

Wonderful shot David. My only nit is there seems to be a lot of the darker sky. I like a little of that cropped out, maybe just short of the white clouds on the left.
