Great Waas 36
by Bill Caldwell
Rocky coast along Great Waas Island in Downeast Maine about 1 hour before sunset. The tides in this part of Maine range by as much as 17 feet. The rocks I stood on for this shot are only accessible at low tide and are completely submerged at high tide.

I like the use of the Rule of Thirds here in this landscape composition. The lines and layout in the foreground rock work well as lead in lines. However, they lines are leading the eye to a part of the image I wish was leading to the bluff. I think you did well to fill the frame and it's nice to have some clouds in the sky. In the end, I'm just not sold on the overall composition as one of the main elements of the trees and the light striking the bluff, is pointing out of the frame and the brighter cloud in the ULC also pulls the eye out of the frame on the left. Not big deals, but enough to warrant a comment. Hope it all makes sense.
The image posted is a little small which makes it a little more difficult in providing a good critique. You can post up to 720px in the original post and there's an option for a 1200px version that members can take advantage of.
