I didn't try a different DOF and so don't know whether I could have gotten the upper left of the lily pad in better focus or not.

Hey Barb, yes you could have gotten it all in focus with a higher f/stop, f/9 is not enough on a large subject like this and judging by the angle you are shooting at.. Still a very nice two subject comp, well done.

Nice composition.......did you try a polarizer....maybe not to remover all of the glare....just a little. I often bracket a few shots for polarization and then I've got some different effects to chose from at the computer later. Very nice as is though, I like it. :toast:

I like the comp, simple yet soothing to look at. Lot of contrasting elements; small vs big leaves, jagged shape vs round shape; different color, up vs down facing, alive vs dead....

My only suggestion is perhaps cropping away the OOF leading edge of the leaf near the lower edge which is a little distracting.

I like this Barbara. The POF on the small leaf is perfect, and I have no problem with the chosen DOF. Nice image.
