Season confusion 2

Another example of nature's confusion right now; a cherry tree is blooming while fall leaves are still hanging on the tree. (In interest of full disclosure, the flowers and leaves were clipped from the same tree and held together with a plant clamp for this picture.)

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/7.1 for 1/125 sec. ISO 200.
tripod mounted. Sunset natural lighting.

Hi Carolyn, this isn't actually a season confusion... this is the November-March blooming Prunus x subhirtella 'Autumnalis'

Beautiful capture, though.

Oh, I didn't know they were supposed to do this. Thanks for the enlightenment and the website connection, Daniel. These trees are planted in front of a building where my husband works. I will have to try to notice their blooming times more.

Carolyn:
Beautiful capture of these cherry blossom and the earthy tone of the autumn leaves. I heard the Sukura are also blooming in Tokyo last month - quite unseasonal.

Carolyn:
The color balance is very pleasing. Beautiful lay-out.
About the blooming November-March, we observed the same here in the Carolinas.
We did not know it’s normal. Learned something new!
