The Purple Void

Land's End, Cornwall

Starting out towards the popular destination of Land's End half an hour away, there were some great clouds in the sky and things looked promising for good visibility and a nice sunset. On many occasions during my trip, I thought the Gods were conspiring against me and sure enough some heavy fog rolled in as soon as I arrived. Fortunately there was a brief episode where everything was bathed in pink and purple. One of the advantages of this fog was that it hid from view some ugly buildings in the distance which ordinarily limit horizontal compositions.

Wonderful image Kah Kit. Has that Scotland twist to it though I know it is not Scotland. Love the background fog and superb detail in the foreground.

Incredible image. The far misty coastline is spectacular but the addition of those rocks and lichen in the FG adds tremendous depth and presence. Amazing color. Outstanding.

Great image, I really like the way the rocks balance the arch and tones created by the fog really make the image

Wow, the impact of this image does not translate through the smaller version. The bigger the better. It has a mystical, fantastical feeling to it. I absolutely love it.

very nice, kah kit. the soft, purple light is quite mesmerizing, and almost shrouds the main event (lands end)
