Dusk on Blue

This image was taken last December in a canyon in northern Arizona and has languished untouched in the files. Recently, I spent the time processing it as a blend of two images- one of sky and one of land.
A larger version is provided. For web sharpening of the 1200 pixel versions, I have been taking the full size and sharpened image, resizing to 1800p, doing an autosharpen, resizing to 1200p and saving for web. Wondering how the web sharpening looks to you. Any other critiques are welcome also.

Edit to add that the "larger" version is not larger, but is also 720pixel, as was noted below. Pardon the inconvenience.

Very nice indeed Doug, love the colours throughout this. The larger version appears smaller than the 720px upload to me though.

Wow...great shot. The colors and light are fantstic and the details are exceptional. I just wish the larger version were actually larger.

oops. The "larger" version is indeed also 720p. Appears that I cannot edit the original post to change out the larger image.

I really like the soft light enabling the detail and texture in the landscape to be revealed to a fine extent.

Great shot from here. It's pretty high on my places to visit within AZ (from phoenix). The sky has some very nice tones that compliment the rock formations. Do you need a permit to visit this area? I know it's on a reservation and I have done some research but never get a clear answer.

Beautiful shot, Doug. This is well composed and processed. I like the contrasting warm and cool tones in this as well. At this size the web sharpening looks spot on.

Excellent color and I like the comp. The blend brings a good balance of light all around for the time of day. The one posted in the larger screen is a little brighter throughout than the smaller one. Probably due to less compression. Beautiful shot, Doug.

Thank you for your comments.
Peter, if you do go, the clay roads become extremely slick if wet.

I cannot see anything to change on this one, it's wonderful! The comp with the leading line from the lower corner balances the scene nicely and the sky is a nice added bonus of color.

Terrific shot. I like the composition with the flat slabs on the right leading into the hoodoos. It does feel slightly dark in the URC, both rocks and sky.

Excellent colors and composition, Doug. The web sharpening looks very good to me - downsizing in steps is the way to go. The only slight technical issue is that there's a slight sharpening halo where the rocks meet the sky in places. If you try my web sharpening script (which also downsizes in two steps, but also uses Lab mode and take care of edge sharpening) you might also see an improvement there. Link is in my signature.
