Little Tipsoo

The view across Little Tipsoo at Chinook Pass a couple weekends ago. Fog started to roll in as I was setting up and within seconds it was too thick to capture much contrast. I do have a fogless version shot earlier in the day but the light was different. More mountain would have had to included a featureless gray sky. In hindsight maybe I should have went 50/50 and got more reflection? Thanks for looking.

I disagree about the 50/50 Bruce, I think the comp works very well as it is. It's certainly a beautiful spot and I think you've done a great job in capturing that beauty. Love all the little pointy trees.

Gary.

I agree with Gary, it works well as is Bruce. I love subtle fall color you captured here, as well as your different take on Tipsoo.

And I feel you about the fog...been up there several times under the same conditions!

Hi Bruce,

It is a beautiful scene. I'd digress even further and advise you to cut out the entire top half of the reflection. I don't think it adds much to the picture and the colors are bogged down and muddled. I'd also clone that bright spot out of the URC corner - it's distracting. Overall, this a serious view and very fine picture.

Bruce,

Interesting image. It gives me the sense of a miniature. The relative size differences in the trees is alluring and I think is the main factor in the miniaturizing effect. The soft light works real well for this and the reflection is great. Well done.

There is a nice intimacy to this even with the wide expanse of land. I'm wondering about lowering water contrast a bit to better match the land-based elements.
