A flock of pigeons flushed up from an adjacent fishing pier flew in front of my landscape...not fast enough a shutter speed to stop them but I liked it nonetheless...thoughts?

Nikon D200, 12-24mm
ISO 200, f/8 @ 1/20 sec
3 stop GND

I like the landscape but unsure about the pigeons. If they were sharp the image would be outstanding but the flock gives it an interesting quality I can't put my finger on. I like it. :toast:

I like the scattering on the ground and the way they make a nice lead-in in the shot. I would also like the pidgeons to be all sharp or all blurry. But the fact that the left ones are blurred and the right ones are sharper creates a bit of imbalance up there.

I like the scattered elements in the foreground. They are leading into the scene. The flock of pigeons add a lot to the scene. Too bad they aren't sharp. Beautiful scene and mood.

wish I had a newer high ISO camera, but with the D200, setting the ISO higher than 400 (which was the correct setting, not 200 as above) gives unacceptable noise. I didn't want to go more open then I would lose foreground focus, so this was about the best I could get given my camera's technology, the light levels, and my goal of a landscape image first, birds second if I could get them. Can't wait until the D400 or D800 comes out...time to upgrade. Thanks for all the comments and if you have any additional thoughts would love to hear them.

Your capture works very well for me, Reed. An dynamic composition and beautiful natural colors in my opinion.
